Special offer: US Credit Card for International Students and Scholars
Many times international students and scholars struggle to qualify for a US credit card. But, having a US credit card with a Visa or Mastercard logo is more convenient for most visitors. With a US issued credit card you can avoid many pitfalls of trying to use your foreign based card. Your US card won’t apply foreign transaction fees, you won’t have per day limits on usage, and your card will be more easily accepted when you try to make purchases.
Many companies that accept credit cards limit international cards. If you are visiting the US with a non-resident educational visa like F visa, J visa, or M visa most card issuers won’t issue you a US card. We’ve found a solution!
TaiAn and J1insurance.net have found a card company that will work with international students and scholars visiting the US and issue them a US card.

Important issues to keep in mind
- The first card is the hardest to qualify for – This one helps establish credit and makes the next one easier to have issued. Your international credit history probably didn’t follow you here. You’ll need a credit history in the US to build your credit rating.
- You’re going to need an address in the US to receive mail in order to qualify.
- To build your credit make sure you pay your card bill timely!
- Watch your credit score go up. The higher your score the easier it will be to get more credit, better and better card offers. Credit score will increase the more you use your card and when you pay timely – don’t pay late!
